Good morning Ashford!

It’s 6:52am here in Minden, NV! Your teachers arrived late last night, and are getting ready to head to a team meeting with the crew of the Perlan 2. Chris Murphy, the mastermind behind our weather balloon launch, will be joining us as well! We will be talking over specifics of the launch, and getting the details for what we will be expected to do while working as the ground crew for the Perlan.

We are very excited, and will hopefully have lots to update you on throughout the day!

 Isabella, Chris Murphy is definitely a cool guy, and I’m glad you enjoyed the blog! He manages all the balloon launches for Teachers in Space and has several cool stories to share about his experiments. And thanks!

It is great to see your interest in Science and how fun it can be!
I am an Earth Science teacher in upstate NY. I learned how to launch balloons for research in 2012 at a workshop with Teachers in Space. We have launched balloons as a school club now for 5 years. Each launch is a new adventure and many stories. We have collected data and analyzed it from every flight. You can check out our facebook page for pictures and video from all of the experiences.
